Dark Lip Neutralization

Dark Lip Neutralization is a sequence of procedures for those who have dark lips or lips with a bluish color.

For the first procedure, you do not choose the color of neutralization—a permanent makeup artist determines which color should be used depending on the color of your lips. If your lips have more gray, brown, or purple shades, the permanent makeup artist will create an optimal mix of pigments for brightening. After the procedure, your lips will have a pink/peach color that will look natural.
As soon as lips are fully healed (in about 8-10 weeks), a permanent makeup artist will apply the color of your choice.

There are two main reasons why people have dark lips. The first is genetics or ethnicity. We offer a variety of pigments that are especially recommended for clients with ethnicity such as African American, Indian, Latin American, and Asian. The second reason is some kind of trauma to the lips. For example, vitamin deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, certain medications, or even too much caffeine or smoking can lead to lip trauma.

Some people are not good candidates for lip correction procedures. For example, those with hyperpigmentation can end up with even darker lips due to the trauma of the procedure. Thus, the lip neutralization procedure can do more harm than good in these cases.

Lip blush on dark lips will last for about 1-2 years. After that, the color will need to be touched up to prevent dark spots from appearing.
